Bio

Matt Latey is a 1991 graduate of Bellevue West High School, where he completed his studies more than 30 years ago. His time at Bellevue West helped shape a strong work ethic, curiosity, and appreciation for teamwork—values that have stayed with him throughout his career. After high school, and serving a two-year mission for his church in Portugal, Matt earned a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Brigham Young University and went on to build a long career in the life sciences and clinical research fields. He has spent more than two decades working alongside scientists, clinicians, and healthcare innovators to help bring new medicines and therapies to patients. Matt currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of SciLucent, a consulting firm focused on supporting biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies through regulatory, scientific, and clinical development challenges. Despite working in complex and highly regulated industries, he remains grounded in the belief that success is built on teamwork, integrity, and continuous learning. Matthew is grateful for the teachers, mentors, and classmates at Bellevue West who helped lay the foundation for his personal and professional journey. He is passionate about lifelong learning and enjoys encouraging students to stay curious, work hard, and remain open to where their interests may lead.
