Bio

Kelly Gatewood, Ph. D. is a graduate professor at Keiser University, where she teaches doctoral-level research and instructional design and technology courses and serves as chair or committee member for numerous dissertation students. She has spent the past 16 years teaching at Keiser University and previously taught at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and Peru State College. Her work focuses on helping doctoral candidates design and complete high-quality research studies while developing the skills needed to lead in education, technology, and organizational settings. Her academic interests include qualitative and quantitative research methods, instructional design, and the integration of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence into authentic learning and professional development environments. In addition to teaching, she mentors doctoral students through the full dissertation process and presents on the role of technology and AI in education. Kelly married her high school sweetheart, Scott Gatewood, in 1983, and they have been together ever since. Scott has worked with DLR Group in Omaha, Nebraska since 1995. Together they raised two children, both of whom are now married. Their daughter and her husband have two children—a boy and a girl—currently in elementary school, and being grandparents has been one of life’s greatest joys. Outside of her professional work, Kelly volunteers as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA), advocating for children involved in the court system. Scott and Kelly are active volunteers with the Stephen Center in Omaha. She remains grateful for the education and friendships that began during her high school years and enjoys staying connected with fellow alumni.
