How did your experiences as a student prepare you for your military career?

The Army has a lot to do with building relationships. Participating in extracurricular activities such as sports and music helped me learn how to deal with multiple personality types. Also, Bellevue West had amazing teachers who demonstrated Leadership skills to students for us to emulate in our careers.

What advice would you give current students and/or fellow alumni who are considering a career in the military?

Don't rush into a particular job in the military until you've researched what your duties will be as you want to set yourself up for success, and that success will motivate you to continue your career.

Any other words of wisdom you would like to share?

If you're planning on enlisting right after graduating, don't go to basic training right away. Enjoy your summer after graduation (don't get in legal trouble, though!) and attend basic training in early fall.
