Bio

Linda W.Y. Coburn currently is a Court of Appeals judge in the State of Washington. After graduating from Bellevue East High School, she went on to earn her B.A. in communications from the University of Washington and an M.S. from Ohio University in journalism. She also graduated from the Radcliffe Publishing Procedures Course at Harvard University. After working as a journalist for about 13 years for The Seattle Times, she then obtained her J.D. at Seattle University School of Law. She was a career public defender before becoming a trial judge and was later elected to the court of appeals. Her love of volleyball that started at Mission Junior High continues today. She competes indoor and on the beach, taking teams to master tournaments nationally and internationally. She also officiates high school volleyball.
